CHALK ~ poetic excerpts by Al Letson
CHALK ~ poetic excerpts by Al Letson
YOU ARE INVITED to a performance + community story share + art exhibit as part of BABS'LAB outreach program in conjunction with National Bullying Prevention month to bring awareness to verbal abuse, and relational aggression through community engagement with the arts.
PERFORMANCE: Director and producer Barbara Colaciello of BABS’LAB will present poetic excerpts from CHALK, a play written by nationally known poet and radio host Al Letson. CHALK reveals the inner voices of kids who are trapped in a society where bullying is tolerated in schools, on social media, and in the work place.
COMMUNITY STORY SHARE: It will be followed by a talk back and an improvised story share. A diverse group of community members share their experiences of bullying—whether as the target, a bystander, or a bully themselves.
EXHIBIT: Barbara Colaciello and Hope McMath of YELLOW HOUSE in partnership with The CoRK Arts District invite you to an art exhibit “and someone gets lost along the way”. Over 15 regional artists created pieces inspired by the poetry of AL LETSON.
