BABS'LAB presents THE OTHER SIDE written and performed by actor and poet David Girard who brings his families' history to life in his new solo show. It is the story of identity embedded in the fabric of family, society and our social construct. “The Other Side” seamlessly weaves poetry and storytelling with the aid of generational wisdom and comedy.
Known as an accomplished actor, David Girard first burst on the scene as a spoken word artist in 1999. He set out to write poems about the Everyman giving voice to the voiceless. He has been seen in countless productions across North Florida stages including “Fences” by August Wilson “Top Dog / Underdog” by Suzan Lori Parks. He co-wrote and starred in "Griot: He Who Speaks the Sweet Word” with Al Letson, Larry Knight bringing it to the 2006 NYC International Fringe Festival where it received rave reviews. David is also one of the original members of Awkward Silence Jax, a comedy troupe that focuses on sketch comedy.
