It’s the BABS’LAB Grand Slam!! The storytellers participating in the January story slam each won the popular vote at one of the past monthly story slams. You know what that means? You will hear some wonderfully crafted stories.

THEME for the Grand Slam is: GUMPTION

October: Anna Jacobson
November: Willie Evans Jr., Grant Nielsen (2 way tie)
December: Johnny Masiulewicz.

Storytellers have 8 minutes with a 2 minute grace period to tell a TRUE personal story based on the THEME without the use of notes.

There will be 3 guest judges plus audience members who will choose the winner of the slam. One Grand Slam winner will be announced at the end of the evening and win a prize!

WHAT'S A GRAND SLAM? It’s a live storytelling friendly competition similar to poetry slams.  

STORY SLAM RULES

•Tell us a story that has a conflict with a resolution or lesson.
•No notes.
•No props.
•Know your beginning, middle and end. This will keep you on track. Content is important but be sure to edit.
•Be sure to connect the story to the Theme.
•Please no ranting, no preaching, no politicizing.
