OUR JUNE GRAND SLAM features the winners of our Winter Slams. Robert Arleigh White, Chloe Smith and Laurie Luhrs. Each of these story shapers shared poignant, touching stories about family, connectivity, and forgiveness. WJCT will be on hand to record the stories for a possible podcast. We would love for you to be part of our audience.

The storytellers participating in a Grand Slam won the popular vote at one of our monthly story slams. Storytellers have 10 minutes each to tell a TRUE personal story based on the THEME without the use of notes.

THEME for the Grand Slam is: Awakening from Fear.

There will be 3 guest judges who with the help of audience members determine the winner of the slam. One Grand Slam winner will be announced at the end of the evening!

More Fun! We will also invite other storytellers to share story for the first half of the evening.
Their THEME for June: What I didn’t do. They will have 5 minutes with a 2 minute grace period to share story.

WHAT'S A GRAND SLAM?
It’s a live storytelling friendly competition similar to poetry slams.  

STORY SLAM RULES
•Tell us a story that has a conflict with a resolution or lesson.
•No notes.
•No props.
•Know your beginning, middle and end. This will keep you on track. Content is important but be sure to edit.
•Be sure to connect the story to the Theme.
•Please no ranting, no preaching, no politicizing.
